Bee Cave Middle School, the third middle school in Lake Travis ISD, opened for its inaugural school year in August 2019. The band program is currently home to about 120 students ranging from 6th to 8th grade. Students who are in their first year of playing an instrument are divided into homogeneous classes, which include flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe/bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium/tuba, and percussion. The first year of band is focused on developing music literacy, building the foundations for instrument-specific skills, and learning to play in an ensemble with other young musicians!

Students who have been in band for one year or more populate the Symphonic Band and Honors Band. Other performing groups include the recently-introduced Jazz Band and percussion ensemble. In our short history as a band program, our students have been recognized with awards such as Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors, first division ratings in UIL Concert and Sightreading, individual memberships into the All-Region and All-District Band, semi finalist in the National Trumpet Competition, and superior ratings in numerous festivals.

Band directors Greg Demoore, Allie Wittman, and Lance Brightwell are thrilled to have the opportunity to teach at Bee Cave! Click here to learn more about our band directors.
