Meet the Directors

Greg Demoore (demooreg@ltisdschools.org) originally resides from San Antonio and is in his third year as director of bands at Bee Cave Middle School. Mr. Demoore is responsible for the beginner low brass, French Horn, and trumpet beginner classes and the Honors Band. Mr. Demoore was previously the associate director of bands at Krueger Middle School in San Antonio. In his first year of teaching, Demoore was able to lead the Krueger non varsity band to sweepstakes ratings at UIL; the first in 18 years with the school's non varsity group. Mr. Demoore has also worked with various high school marching band programs including the Seguin High School Band, the CT Johnson High School Band, the MacArthur High School Band, and the Roosevelt High School Band. Mr. Demoore is a proud graduate of Texas Lutheran University where he studied music education. Mr. Demoore was very active in the TLU School of Music in various ensembles, student worker positions, and Kappa Kappa Psi. Prior to teaching, Mr. Demoore student taught with Richard Gonzalez and Jarrett Lipman at Driscoll Middle School and Claudia Taylor Johnson High School who continue to serve as mentors to him. Most recently in the summer of 2016, Mr. Demoore had the distinct opportunity to travel to Japan and experience the band curriculum and culture lead by Mr. Keith Bearden and organized by Brain Music. Mr. Demoore is very excited to kick off the Bee Cave Middle School band program.

Allie Wittman (wittmana@ltisdschools.orgis in her third year as the Assistant Band Director at BCMS. Ms. Wittman teaches beginner flute, clarinet, double reeds, and saxophone classes and conducts the Symphonic Band. Ms. Wittman's primary instrument is clarinet, which she has studied under Prof. Paula Corley for almost 10 years. She has lived in the Austin area since 2007 and attended Dripping Springs High School.

 

After high school, Ms. Wittman went on to study Music Education at Texas Lutheran University, where she completed her bachelor's degree and teaching certification in 2018. In her final semester at TLU, Ms. Wittman had the wonderful opportunity to student teach in Comal ISD at Spring Branch Middle School and Smithson Valley High School. Her professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. In addition to teaching full time at BCMS, Ms. Wittman is pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State University. She is grateful and excited to be a Bee Cave Raider!

Lance Brightwell (brightwelll@ltisdschools.org), a native of Beckville, TX, is a graduate of Northwestern State University, LA with a BA in Music Education and Music Theory. While under the studies of Kenneth H. Green, Caroline Beatty, and Bill Brent, he was Section Leader multiple years for the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Marching Drumline where he also acted as an arranger.

While under Mr. Brightwell’s direction since 2008, the Percussion section at Lake Travis also experienced many high achievements including 2012 PASIC Silver Medalists in the marching stand still division and winning “Best Snare Line” and “Best Cymbal Line”. In 2012, the LT Winter Drumline was the Scholastic Marching A Campion in the Texas Colorguard Circuit. In 2013 they were the WGI Houston Regional Champions and the Scholastic Marching Open Champions in TCGC.  In 2014, the Winter Drumline finished 3rd place in the TCGC State Competition solidifying themselves as a consistent medalist in the circuit.

Mr. Brightwell is an active adjudicator and clinician in Texas and Louisiana for UIL, the Percussive Arts Society, and he is Educationally Endorsed by Innovative Percussion.  \He has been an instructor all over TX since 2010 for “RATAMACAMP”, a series of Summer Percussion camps, beginner level – 8th grade with founder, Paul Garretson. It is here that he continues his pursuit of teaching and developing the young percussionist, one of his greatest passions. Associations include PAS, TBA, TMEA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

 

Mr. Brightwell lives in the hill country of Austin, TX with his wife Hannah and their daughter Stevie. He is honored to be a part of the Lake Travis Band family!
